Great article Marc. I certainly think this example takes flattery a bit too far! And I am disapointed in how often one comes across look alikes that are just that bit too similar to be coincidence.

As a designer I’m always on the lookout for inspiration and often even utalise a particular design element or function that I come across. I think this is one of the great joys of the internet – its a great way to learn and bounce off other creative people. Unfortunately I think there’s such a percieved annonymity on the net that it is easy to forget how visible one’s work can really become. A lesson well learnt for Web Wombat hey!

DWS pulled the site down and erased their twitter account. All in less than 24 hours. Wasn’t expecting it to happen that fast, but it’s awesome that it was dealt with so quickly and before any difficult issues needed to be addressed.

Thanks for the support. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing when you told me about this. I mean, I wrote all of that content word for word, mind you I removed my services section when I launched the new design, but it’s my content.

The site did an exact rip of my old design and content and added the images rotator from my new site. It’s pretty bad and they did not do any of the design at all. Even the three buttons on the home page I did. I think this has been live for a while now cause my new design and site structure has been up for a few months.

It’s just a horrible display of plagiarism.
